The wife is on the phone
Jen, a young American with plans to move to Los Angeles, thinks her married boyfriend Richard can help her get there. They fly by chartered helicopter to his remote, luxurious vacation home in the desert, and the pilot hands Richard a small bag of peyote. They sleep together, then Richard calls his wife to check in. In the morning his friends Stan and Dimitri show up early for a hunting trip. Richard had meant for Jen to be gone before they got there, so he has to introduce her. The four of them party that night. Jen wants to try the peyote, but Richard refuses and tells her about a man who took it and cut off his own leg without noticing. Jen dances, and when a tired Richard won't join, she dances with Stan instead.

The cliff was not in the brochure
In the morning Richard is out of the house. Jen rejects Stan's advances, he gets aggressive, and he rapes her. Dimitri watches and does nothing. Richard returns and shouts at Stan, but when Jen says she wants to go home, he offers to pay for her to move to Canada. She threatens to tell his wife about the affair, and Richard slaps her. Jen runs into the desert with all three men after her, and Richard pushes her off a cliff, where she lands on a tree branch that goes through her. Believing she is dead, Richard tells his friends they can finish the trip before anybody finds her.
A beer can with good artwork
Jen comes to and pulls herself off the tree, but a piece of the branch stays in her torso. She hides when the men return, and at night they separate to search. She finds Dimitri alone. He grabs her face and holds it under water, and she gets hold of his hunting knife and puts it in his eye. She takes his shotgun and shelters in a cave, where she remembers Richard's peyote and eats it. This is the scene people brace for, in the middle of the movie: she pulls the branch out of her torso herself, then heats a beer can in the fire and presses it to the wound to close it. The artwork on the can leaves a phoenix-shaped brand on her stomach. After a run of nightmares about the men hunting her, she leaves the cave to deal with them.
Two men left and one very large house
In the morning Richard and Stan come across Dimitri's body. Stan drives off in the SUV to keep searching, and Jen ambushes him while he is at the gas pump. They trade gunfire, and Jen shoots him dead as he tries to drive over her. Richard can't raise Stan on the radio, so he rushes back to the house and calls a helicopter. In the shower he hears a noise, and Jen surprises him and shoots him in the stomach. Each of them hunts the other through the rooms with a shotgun while Richard's blood covers the floors and walls. He catches Jen anyway and starts to strangle her, but she shoves her hand into his wound, retakes the gun and shoots him dead.
The ending, explained
Richard strangles Jen until she pushes her hand into his stomach wound, takes back the gun and shoots him dead. After that, Jen walks out of the house bloodied and triumphant as the helicopter Richard called approaches. Dimitri, Stan and Richard are all dead, and Jen is the only person from the weekend left standing.
