What actually happens
A party at the mortuary with the bad reputation
Angela Franklin, an outcast, is throwing a party with her closest friend Suzanne at Hull House, a mortuary that was abandoned because of its grim history and is rumored to be cursed. On the drive over, Stooge, Helen and Rodger pass an old man carrying apples and razor blades. Stooge moons him out of the car window, and the man swears at them and says they will get what they deserve. Meanwhile Judy Cassidy and Jay Jansen, her boyfriend, collect Max and Frannie, and Judy's ex, Sal Romero, crashes the party. There is dancing until the radio cuts out. Angela then runs a séance as a game, and Helen sees a demon in the mirror and screams, after which the mirror falls and breaks. The group hears thudding below, and the demon, which had been sealed in the crematorium, gets free and possesses Suzanne while everyone is distracted. They search the house, and possessed Suzanne kisses Angela hard to pass the demon on.

Dancing by the fireplace is a bad idea
Judy finds out that Jay only invited her for sex, and he leaves her in a room that seems to be locked. Rodger and Helen cannot find a way out, Helen disappears, and demon voices call Rodger's name, so he shuts himself in the car. Stooge walks off with Suzanne to look for a bathroom and ends up locked outside, where Suzanne's face changes and she smashes a mirror. This is the scene people dread most. Stooge finds Angela dancing by the fireplace and dances with her. They kiss, she possesses him, and she bites off his tongue. Jay goes looking for Suzanne and has sex with her, and she shows him her demon face and gouges his eyes. Possessed Stooge then finds Max and Frannie together in a coffin and kills them both.
The crematorium has a gas pipe
Sal is horrified to see Angela put her hands into the fire. Rodger, who fell asleep in the car, wakes up when Helen's body hits it. The two of them let Judy out, but Angela, now plainly a demon, chases them and they are separated. Judy and Sal find Suzanne next to Jay's body, and Sal is thrown through a window. Judy slips away and keeps ahead of the demons all through the house. Angela catches her as she tries to climb down, but Sal returns and fights Angela off. They both fall off the roof, and Sal lands on a spike. Judy and Rodger run from the demons and lock themselves in the crematorium, where they learn what the demonic force really is. When Angela and Stooge break the door down, Judy lights a gas pipe and burns both of them, which drives them off.
The ending, explained
Judy and Rodger run upstairs and find the demons waiting, including the burned Angela and Stooge and the possessed corpses of Suzanne, Jay, Max, Frannie, Helen and Sal. Rodger breaks a window, and they get outside and start climbing a wall by its barbed wire while the demons grab Judy's ankles. Rodger pulls her up, and they get over the wall as the sun comes up, which destroys the possessed bodies and sends the demons back to hell. Judy and Rodger are badly shaken, and they walk home together, passing the old man, who watches them with contempt. He goes inside and eats a pie his wife baked, and he realizes too late that she used the apples he had stuffed with razor blades for trick-or-treaters. The blades slice his throat and kill him. His wife strolls over, kisses his head, and says, "Happy Halloween, dear."
